Don’t Take Your Health For Granted!

Sometimes I take for granted being at a healthy weight.

I had someone come to my house to measure for runners for my stairs (my poor 10 year old Golden Retriever has been slipping and I need to help her!). He arrived (not the dog, but the guy for the runners!) and I had him follow me up the three flights of stairs we have in our house. He was very overweight and needed to sit down on the steps before we made it to the top. I asked him if he needed any water and if he was okay. He said he just needed a minute. I would guess he was in his mid-40’s. My heart broke for him.

It reminded me to be grateful for each day that I can bounce up those steps (okay, sometimes it’s not so bouncy, but still not huffing or puffing) and to keep working out and eating right (most of the time!). Remember, it’s what we do most of the time, not all of the time, so don’t beat yourself up if you didn’t work out today or had a bad eating day!

(PS. I had a cupcake before I wrote this!)
